BBC Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: How many members do you have, or how many attend your services? The church's attendance is generally somewhere between 210 and 240 during Sunday morning services. The church generally has between 60 and 80 people attending our Sunday evenings services. Q: Do you know of any like-minded (Baptistic & Reformed with expository preaching) churches in or near the Cambridge or Boston area?Sadly, we do not. Let us know if you find one. we would love to be able to recommend such a church in that area. Q: Could you recommend places I may go to find like-minded churches in my area?We can give you a few starting points with the links provided below. We would encourage you to check out the churches listed in your area and find one committed to expository preaching. Please note that BBC does not endorse each and every church listed on these sites. http://www.tms.edu/AlumniMap.aspx Q: How large is your youth group?Size of congregation or Youth Group should never be the question. If we said, “One thousand, or 5,” what would the difference be? Our focus and goal at Bethlehem Bible Church is never based on numbers. We are committed to teaching God’s Word to whoever the Lord brings whether it is 5 or 5,000. Our belief is that our youth will not turn eighteen and suddenly serve the church body; these young people need to be brought up in the training and admonition of God's Word. We believe it is vital to challenge our youth to practice what they already know. Cornerstone, our high school ministry, is devoted to equipping high school aged students with all that is necessary to make God honoring decisions as they transition into spiritual adulthood. Bethlehem Bible Church also has an AWANA program for pre-school (4+) through junior high school. You can get more details on our AWANA program from our website. Q: Do you have contemporary or traditional music.During our church's Sunday morning services, we have two hymns (piano and organ), and three contemporary songs (acoustic guitar and piano only), and a closing hymn. In our Sunday night services, members of the congregation select their favorite songs from those available in the hymnal. Q: Do you have small life/cell groups? Our Church incorporates what are called "home Bible groups". During Sunday morning the church has two adult Sunday School classes and many youth classes focused on Godly Biblical instruction. Q: What Bible translation does your church use?Our senior pastor typically teaches from the English Standard Version. We also will use the King James Version, the New King James Version, and the New American Standard from time to time. We believe there are several good English translations available, but that only the original autographs can be said to be "perfect." Translation involves choices by fallible human beings and some nuances of the original languages are difficult to transfer neatly into English. Some versions attempt to be more literal, leaving more of the difficulties unresolved. Others are less literal, resolving differences, and sometimes imposing opinions on the text of Scripture.
